There was a time in the world when getting and high school diploma was the highlight of one’s education career. That changed once college became accessible for all that could afford to go or receive financial help. That was a time when to see your son or daughter graduate from college moved from an achievement to normality. To expect anything less could be viewed as being unproductive. Currently, pursuing your master’s degree is the new method to merit your success. In years past, the number of student going on to earn a master’s has increased. There are a lot of reasons to believe graduate school is worth it and when you think of reasons not to attend you’re doing yourself an injustice.
So how did I get here? This writing journey began about 20 years ago when Don Feigel, the editor of an amateur radio newsletter, asked if I could contribute some articles. I’m a professional electronics technician, so I was interested in the tech side, but the pieces quickly devolved into comedy. I found a character, earnest but not overly bright, who may not be far removed from my own. It’s been a merry downhill run ever since.
Khadijah Williams, a student at Harvard University, worked her way up from the ground. Literally. Khadijah never had a home to speak of and grew up on the street. She worked hard, really hard, and made it to Harvard. Aduei Riak, one of the Lost Children of Sudan, grew up in a refugee camp and took care of herself. She came to the U.S. to live in a foster home, learned English, worked very hard, and is now attending Bradeis University, one of the most prestigious schools in the U.S. And there’s Marjorie Elliott, who finally graduated high school at 75, and is planning to attend college. These students overcame massive trials because they believed that their Education was worth fighting for. If they can do it, so can you!
Write the story of a young heroine who grew up on a tropical island. with her clown fish. A story that has been forming in my head the last 6 months. I intend it to be the subject for a children’s book.
. Don’t underestimate the students. All students have their strengths and weaknesses. In fact, even their weaknesses, sometimes, is a strength in some ways. So, downplaying them due to some perceived weaknesses should be discouraged.
Roman numerals are rarely used these days. Do not attempt to use them today in setting up a domain name for the same reasons you should keep spelling simple.
Upon arriving at Indian Garden, they will welcome the chance to dismount and stretch. Some will now be noticing the first signs of soreness in a place where they are not accustomed to feeling it. Others will just be happy for the opportunity to walk around and straighten their legs. The wrangler will once again check everyone’s tack, and they are off to Plateau Point. By now, a few of them will even fancy themselves real cowboys.
Will it matter after you are gone that you lived the life you lived, had dreams and fulfilled them. Will anyone benefit from the things you gave life to? Exceptionally successful people give birth to things that will outlive them.
