The Conjugate and Westside Barbell training systems are becoming popular in the United States as methods for the training athletes. This is not without good reason as they’re very effective systems and can promote improvement greater than some of the basic progressive overload or linear periodization models out there. These systems allow continuous improvement throughout the year and allow desired qualities to be worked on without much drop-off of other qualities. The old linear periodization system is notorious for building a quality and then letting it go to work on another one.
Redmond-based Washington Crossfire will have talent. They can draw from a nice base of former Crossfire Premier players who are home from college. This year Washington looks to have Brayton Knapp (Tacoma) and John Fishbaugher (Kitsap, Tacoma) along to add PDL experience. It will be up to new head coach Bernie James to turn Crossfire from an occasional winner into a contender.
“If your kids are in the Winnie-the-Pooh stage, talk slow and pretend you’re Eeyore. “Come in their room talking deep and slow and say ‘I’m here to see Christopher Robin…’ They’ll fall off their chairs laughing.
Messi was still young when discovered by a man named Salvador Aparicio, who needed one more player to field his team, so he asked if Leo could play. That was the first time that this kid, five years old at the time, much younger than all the rest of the players would wear a Cleats wide fit jersey and play in a normal football club. No one at that time could have thought that Messi was about to be a key player and star of the World Cup 2010.
A house in Rosario still bears the evidence of Messi’s game. One day the young boy was practicing his penalty shots, playing with friends on the street. He hit the ball and the ball hit the wall of the house. That goal is still painted red in that house, and its owner says proudly that Messi used to practice there before he became a worldwide known player. He also said that the power of his shots made the pictures shake on the walls, so he will never forget about this little boy that was playing and practicing outside his house. Especially, now, he is the huge star of the World Cup 2010.
While these are perfectly fine lifts, athletes can use a bit more variety in their movements. Powerlifters compete in the bench press and squat. For them using these lifts allows them to practice the movements that they’re going to compete in. Not only do they build the qualities they’re looking for in DE work such as power and explosive strength but they also get better at bench pressing and squatting.
The Photo shoot was a blast, our Photographer Mike Febbo had a vision of what he wanted and excuted it with precision; the end result was nothing short of spectacular. These pictures don’t do these cars justice, if only if these pictures had a sound clip to go along with it, the high pitch sounding 997 and the low burble of the 996 both naturally aspirated was just music to my ears, hearing these two cars going thru the tight twisties of the canyons. With out further a due here are some of the pics. Enjoy!
